Claims Process

Incident Occurs

You are involved in an accident, theft or hijacking, or have property damaged.

Complete Claim Form

Contact Coral, or download and fill in the relevant claim form

Submit Form

Submit the claim form to us via email or in person within 48 hours of the incident.

Claim Feedback

You will receive feedback on your claim within 72 hours.

Claim Closure

The claim is closed once the final outcome has been determined.


Important points to remember when claiming

  • It is important to notify your broker as soon as possible about any event that has occurred which could lead to a potential claim. Kindly note that it must be not later than 30 days following the occurrence of the events.
  • It is required that all the necessary and correct information be provided on the claim form to help streamline the steps in the claims process.
  • In an event of theft, your case must be reported to the police immediately in order to be provided with a case number that will be required for the claim.
  • All drivers of insured vehicles must have a valid license.
  • When a claim is made, enough proof of your financial loss will be required.
  • Depending on what type of claim it is, different documents you will be required from you. This will be stipulated by the broker once notified of a potential claim.

  • Enlarged Copy of ID
  • License
  • Vehicle Registration Certificate
  • Driver statement describing the loss
  • Copy of SAPS Report if police called
  • Photos of the damages on the vehicle

Windscreen

  • License disc
  • Photos of the windscreen damage

Damaged Portable Possessions

  • Damage report
  • Quote for repairs or the replacement
  • Photos of the damages

Theft

  • SAPS Report
  • Proof of ownership (invoice of purchase, photo)
  • For sim card item, ITC Blacklisting Number
  • Quote to repair or replace

Goods In Transit/Marine

  • Enlarged Copy of ID
  • License
  • Driver Stement describing the Loss
  • Accident Report / Copy of SAPS report
  • Load Confirmation
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Price claim
  • Delivery Note
  • Contract of Carriage

Damages to Property or Item

  • Photos
  • Damage report
  • Quote to repair or replace

House Break In

  • SAPS Report
  • Proof of ownership of all stolen items
  • Quote to replace
  • Quote to repair any broken items
  • Alarm report if listed as a requirement on the policy
